New Zahn power units at Ditch Witch of Ohio, Western PA and Western NY
Each Zahn power unit includes the engine, operator's console, and the articulation joint. The R230 and R300 also have a unique InterChange connection that accepts up to seven types of front ends: trencher, plow, dumper, tiller, backhoe, stump grinder, and a tool carrier that can drive more than 40 quick-change attachments. The R150 2WD is essentially a dedicated trencher. The 2WD R230 and R300 accept two trencher front ends, while their 4WD counterparts accept all seven types of front ends—with more planned for the near future.

The 2WD, 23-hp (17.2 kW) R230 installs sprinkler systems and utilities and performs other trenching tasks in traditional fashion—with non-traditional power, speed, and efficiency.
Accepts two types of Zahn trenchers; each concentrates weight on the digging chain so it can penetrate the ground easier, enhancing overall stability.
Optional hydraulic auger that runs independent of the headshaft (patent-pending feature) reduces the amount of carryover, increasing productivity.
